Some of my predictions about future

World affairs

Vajpayee will not be out of power for a single day!

[Disclaimer: This prediction need not come true.]

May 9, 1999: India is going to face fresh elections in September-October 1999.

It was predicted on this homepage that Jayalalita will pull the plug on Vajpayee government. It was predicted that she would be the loser. It was predicted that allies of Jayalalita would join hands with her enemy DMK in her state and and stay with BJP. It was predicted that Vajpayee would continue. It was also predicted that Vajpayee's strength would increase from the second half of 1999 and that he would be much more confident and assertive.

His fall was not exactly anticipated by me, but most other things are still in accordance with what planets indicate. It will turn out in the long run that this fall was a blessing in disguise for Vajpayee. The changes in the political equations in Jayalalita's state happened exactly as forecast in last July. With the lower house of the parliament having been dissolved without Jayalalita's stated goal of installing a non-BJP government having been achieved, Jayalalita lost a big advantage and suffered a setback. Jayalalita's party will do much worse at the hustings than in the previous elections and her loss will be more complete then. Jayalalita'a hasty withdrawal of support will prove a costly mistake for her. She will be the loser because of that action.

Despite his fall, Vajpayee was not replaced by an opposition leader and he continues as India's Prime Minister!

Vajpayee will not be out of power for a single day! A golden phase in Vajpayee's career will come during Sept 1999-Aug 2002. Vajpayee's party will win the election with a more comfortable lead than in 1998.

May everyone be filled with eternal bliss - Vedas
