Mundane Astrology Analysis of 1998-2000 (Part

Introduction
In all probability, we are on the verge of dramatic developments in world
politics, that will go down in the pages of history books as some of the
most unfortunate in human history. These are the times when world leaders
will lose their sanity, set unreasonable goals for their nations and convince
general populace that achieving those goals is very important.
While we must do our best to possibly avert such happenings, sadly
odds are against us.
In the next few months, I expect to spend my
energies on mundane astrology and make some predictions on this homepage.
This article kicks of that exercise!
India and Pakistan
In the second week of August 1998, Mars will move to Cancer. Interestingly,
independence charts of India and Pakistan have Pluto (the planet of aggression,
weaponry, war and destruction) in Cancer! It is interesting that transit
Mars was aspecting natal Pluto and transit Saturn was aspecting natal Uranus
pretty exactly, when India conducted nuclear tests. When Mars transits
over natal Pluto, there can be some excitement and irritation.
As per the pattern seen during the last few years, artillery shelling
in Kashmir typically reaches a peak during early/mid August (when the snow
in Himalayas melts, paving the way for easy movement of you-know-who! Exchange
of fire aids this movement!!) and the current exchange of fire may be dismissed
as part of the known pattern. But there may be more to it now. Transit
of Mars in Cancer is not good for Indo-Pak relations.
In July 1999, natal position of Pluto in India's and Pakistan's independence
charts (20 deg in Cancer, 3rd house in India's chart) will be transitted
by Rahu and aspected by transit Uranus (planet of sudden conflicts)! In
India's independence chart, Sun and Moon also occupy Cancer. Mars will
be in samasaptaka from Saturn, in the 6th house of India's independence
chart. Saturn will be in India's 12th house, along with Jupiter (who owns
8th and occupies 6th in natal chart). Sun joins Rahu. On the whole, there
are very serious concerns of India's safety and peace during July-Sept
1999. There can be aggressive and sudden developments in India's neighborhood,
possibly involving nuclear weapons (influence of Uranus and Rahu over natal
Pluto!!).
On a related note, with Pluto in 3rd house, with 1st, 3rd and 6th lords
and Moon, one would be silly to expect India not to be advanced and up-to-date
in weapon-related technologies!
Aggression by USA
In USA's independence chart, Pluto joins 3rd lord Moon in Capricorn and
aspects 3rd. Right now, transit Saturn aspects natal Pluto (pretty exactly),
transit Pluto aspects natal Uranus (pretty exactly) and Uranus transits
over natal Pluto. These are times when USA will be happy to do something
silly. When Mars is in Cancer or Scorpio or Capricorn, USA can get involved
in troublesome brawls that can lead to a war. The bad time mentioned above
(for India and Pakistan) is bad for USA too.
In late 1999, Uranus, Mars and Ketu will transit over natal Pluto,
Moon and Ketu in Capricorn and transit Pluto will aspect natal Uranus pretty
exactly. This is very likely to lead to disaster by way of overconfident
aggression.
Conclusion
This series is not yet over! It has just started.
