I am happy to announce that my Vedic astrology textbook is shipping now. It is titled "Vedic Astrology: An Integrated Approach". It has 437 pages. It introduces a lot of basic concepts in a systematic way with examples and exercises. It covers various teachings of Maharshi Parasara and Maharshi Jaimini and various other scholars. It forms a good basis for more advanced works that may later be written by me or Pt. Sanjay Rath or others at SJVC. It covers a wide spectrum of topics and tries to maintain some level of clarity even while covering too many things.
The highlight of this book is that it offers an integrated approach that combines divisional charts, special lagnas, arudha padas etc, just as Maharshi Parasara and Maharshi Jaimini taught. We don't have one approach taught by Parasara and another approach taught by Jaimini. They taught the same approach. This must be abundantly clear to anyone who studied "Brihat Parasara Hora Sastram" and "Jaimini Sutras" carefully. Some modern authors tried to separate Vedic astrology into sub-groups that contradict each other, but I have presented an integrated approach and upheld the true spirit of the teachings of the Sages.
