Introduction
I gave a lecture
at Arsha Vidya Gurukulam, Pennsylvania, USA, on May 29, 1998 on "Kalachakra
Dasa". Though not in mainstream use among Vedic astrologers these days,
Kalachakra dasa was called "the most acceptable dasa system" by
Sage Parasara. I have always been disappointed by its lack of popularity.
I use many dasa systems and I got more consistent results with Kalachakra
dasa than any other dasa.
As a service to those who are far
away from Pennsylvania, I converted the hand-outs (a Word 97 file) to an
HTML file, made some changes and added some explanation in examples
and exercises (mind you - these handouts were used as slides, as a
visual supplement to my speech and they don't contain all
my explanation. So they are not too useful without some explanation added).
Some fonts I used in my Word document
may be missing on your PC and, as a result, this page may not look good.
Also, there is some loss of formatting in the conversion. I hope it can
be useful nevertheless.
Advice: Don't
be disheartened if the initial sections on computation confuse you. If
you have a PC, you will probably not need to compute Kalachakra dasa by
hand. Examples and exercises, which explain how to use it, are more
important and concentrate on them!
I could not afford to spend a lot
of time on this page, but I tried to add as much explanation as possible
and added an index (in a separate frame) for convenient navigation. If
