I gave a lecture on "Timing of Events with Divisional Charts" at Arsha Vidya Gurukulam (AVG), Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania on April 5, 1998 for their "Spring Jyotish Seminar". They made cassettes with this lecture. You can get copies of the cassettes from them.
This lecture went fine and was well-received by the audience. However, I wasn't too satisfied with it. The topic turned out to be pretty overambitious, considering the scheduled time, and I felt at the end that I should have spoken just about general divisional chart interpretation and reserved "timing" for another lecture.

If you missed it, don't worry!! It wasn't great anyway - the next lecture promises to be better.
I was asked to give another lecture on May 29, 1998 (Friday) for the "Summer Jyotish Seminar". I will speak on "Kalachakra Dasa". It will be a longer lecture than the previous one (scheduled time: 9:00 am-5:00 pm).

I will introduce Kalachakra Dasa in this class. I will explain how to compute it, judge it, use it in conjunction with transits and use it with divisional charts. Sage Parasara called this "the best dasa system" in his classic Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra and my experience suggests the same. I use several dasa systems (Vimsottari, Yogini, Kalachakra, Chara, Narayana, AshtakavargaVimsottari and some conditional dasas when applicable), but I found in my experience that, provided the birth data is accurate, Kalachakra dasa system gives the best results. It is really the king among dasa systems. "Kalachakra" means, by the way, "the wheel of time".

Inaccuracies in birthdata are a big headache for Kalachakra dasa users (an error of one minute in birthtime causes an error of about 2.5-3.5 months in dasa dates!). I will spend a couple of hours in explaining how to cope with birthtime errors and in presenting several practical illustrations.
NOTE: I am not linked to this organization (AVG) in any way and I cannot answer any further questions you may have, regarding attending the seminar and obtaining cassettes. You may want to get in touch with them if you have questions. Send me a mail if you need their contact information.
