Welcome to P.V.R. Narasimha Rao's Homepage!

My Astrology Textbook
My textbook "Vedic Astrology: An Integrated Approach" (Sagar Publications, New Delhi, India) is now shipping! You can view its contents and some extracts and get information on how to buy it.

If you are interested in performing a quick one-hour "Mahaganapathi Homam" (a Hindu fire ritual) by yourself, you can download a detailed 25-page manual and a one-hour audio MP3. The document also explains the benefits of homam.

Read the prediction I made in March 2001 issue of "Express Star Teller" magazine of Chennai, India on Telugu actor Chiranjeevi's political prospects in 2008-2009..

On Karthika Pournima (2005 November 15), we did our 64th consecutive monthly Satya Narayana vratam. On that auspicious occasion, I wrote a prayer to Lord Satya Narayana in Sanskrit. You can read "Sri Satyadevashtakam" here.

You can now download free Vedic astrology software (Jagannatha Hora version 7.0). Those who have the full version 5.0 or 6.0 can upgrade to version 7.0 here. (Note: if you have the lite version 5.0 or 6.0, you need to do a fresh installation. Upgrade will not work with the lite version.)

I teach Vedic astrology on Sundays to students near Boston. If you have a broadband connection to the internet, you may be able to download my lectures in mp3 format and listen to them. Go to the website maintained by my students.

After John Kerry won the debates and closed the gap with George Bush, I predicted on vedic-astrology yahoogroup on October 11, 2004 that George Bush would still prevail and win the US Presidential election. You can read the prediction in yahoogroups archives.

Now you can listen to some mantras recorded in my voice in MP3 format!

If you are a serious Vedic astrologer, did you ever wonder why Hindu Sages taught hundreds of dasa systems? Why isn't one enough? Read an article that tries to illustrate how different dasas throw light on events from different angles! It illustrates ten dasa systems with the chart of Bill Gates.

I am a designated Jyotish Guru (Vedic astrology teacher) at Sri Jagannath Centre (SJC). Why don't you visit the website of SJC for a lot of good information?

During 1999-2001, I wrote about 20 articles for "The Astrological Magazine" and "Express Star Teller" magazines of India. An interview with me was published by "Express Star Teller" magazine in October 1999 issue (pages 13-18).

If you are a serious Vedic astrologer, why don't you join my vedic-astrology discussion list? You can get some info and archives here and check the latest discussions here.

You can read my 50-odd page "Kalachakra Dasa Tutorial", which is online and gives all the examples and exercises I presented in my class at Arsha Vidya Gurukulam, Pennsylvania on May 29, 1998.  My Kalachakra Dasa Tutorial is now available in MS Word format!

If you are a Western astrologer, I invite you to take a look at my article "Twins with a difference". Though you may not be able to comprehend it, this sample article will give you an idea of the breadth and depth of Vedic astrology, as opposed to western astrology. Vedic astrology is perhaps the only form of astrology that can explain why twins born 2 minutes apart can be different!!

Dedication

By the grace of Goddess Sri Maha Lakshmi and Lord Sri Maha Vishnu, I was introduced to the fascinating field of astrology by my father Sri P.V.S. Chalapathi Rao. Despite being conversant with various aspects of theory in addition to being blessed with an unmatched power of intuition, my father never deviated from the saattwik (saintly) path of humility. When I consider that my scattered achievements in my short career as an astrologer have made me somewhat arrogant, my young mind cannot understand how he could remain so humble after so many achievements.

Anyone familiar with astrology must be familiar with the name of Prof. B.V. Raman, known as the twentieth century Varahamihira (Varahamihira is a giant among ancient Hindu astrologers). Though I never met him, I reverntially consider him my guru. Prof. Raman's books, covering various aspects of Hindu/Vedic astrology, were instrumental in my progress as an astrologer, while I was thousands of miles away from my father. If only I could acquire one millionth of Prof. Raman's knowledge and power of intuition, I would be a world-famous astrologer!

Sri Sanjay Rath, a brilliant astrologer, scholar and author, blessed me by accepting me as a sishya (disciple). He has all the qualities I hoped my guru would have. I am grateful to him for accepting me as a student and I will strive to be a worthy student!

This homepage is humbly dedicated to the lotus feet of my father and guru Sri P.V.S. Chalapathi Rao, my indirect guru Prof. B.V. Raman and my current astrology guru Sri Sanjay Rath.
